Lebanon County – Bridge Inspection Program

As the appointed County Engineer, Wilson Consulting performs all biennial NBIS Inspections.  There are 13 County owned bridges and 66 Township owned bridges.

The work includes:

  • Field Inspections
  • Report Preparation
  • Load Rating Analysis (posting recommendations)
  • Underwater Inspections
  • Interim Inspections
  • Closed Bridge Inspections
  • Railroad Coordination
  • Owner/Consultant Meetings

All work is done in accordance with Federal and State standards for bridge inspections.

All work (inspection and reports) are completed in 5 months from start.  Reports are provided four weeks after inspection is complete.

As County Engineer, work also includes coordination with PENNDOT and the County Planning Commission in prioritizing, planning and programming for funding of critical bridges.  Meetings with local bridge owners are conducted to discuss needed repairs and identification of critical conditions.

Wilson provides a final inspection summary at the conclusion of each two-year cycle.  This summary indicates, general condition rating, appraisal rating, maintenance needs, sufficiency rating, posting, ADT and program status.
